A violent clash on the remote Victoria Highway in the Northern Territory has left one man dead and three others injured. The incident unfolded when a large group, some armed with edged weapons, engaged in a heated dispute near Timber Creek, approximately 600 kilometers from Darwin, around 9 p.m. on Monday. During the altercation, an unknown individual got into a vehicle and drove recklessly through the area, tragically striking and killing a 27-year-old man. The authorities also reported that a 16-year-old male and a 65-year-old woman were assaulted with an edged weapon, sustaining serious injuries. They were promptly treated at the scene and later airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital for further care. Additionally, a 24-year-old man was assaulted and sustained minor injuries. The highway was closed throughout the day as police meticulously established three distinct crime scenes. Reinforcements from Katherine, along with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, Northern Investigations Section, and Major Crime Detectives, were summoned to assist in the investigation.
