Winter Wonderland Event: A Frosty Adventure Awaits
The highlight of this update is the 'Frozen Tour Event', a winter-themed extravaganza that transforms all tracks into icy wonderslands. During this event, which runs from December 15, 2025, to January 19, 2026, players can collect Gem Sparks on frozen tracks to unlock exclusive rewards. But that's not all! The 'Frozen World Tour' returns, challenging you to nine three-lap races across various F-Zero worlds. Compete for a spot on the weekly leaderboard, and if you rank 999th or higher, you'll earn a special badge.
Global Leaderboards and Elite Status
F-Zero 99 introduces an 'Elite Leaderboard' where S20+ pilots will be globally ranked. This leaderboard resets every three months, and you'll need to complete at least one race to be included. Additionally, players who achieve the S50 status will display a Falcon emblem and compete for top world rankings based on Elite points earned from racing against S50 Elite Rivals.
Lucky Tokens and Secret Tracks
Lucky Tokens have been added, allowing players to attempt Lucky Ranks once per day. These tokens can be held for future use, and you can unlock additional tokens by leveling up or not using your daily token. Speaking of secrets, three new secret tracks have been unveiled, appearing more frequently in F-Zero 99 and Mini Prix modes.
Music Player and Customization Options
The update also includes a music player, letting you set the soundtrack to your races. Customize your Pilot Cards and express yourself with emotes that can be sent during races, with 20 new backdrops and eight emotes available through various challenges.
Improvements and Fixes
To enhance your gaming experience, Nintendo has adjusted skill rating gains and losses, making it easier to reach higher ratings. They've also introduced a World Tour tab in the Workshop and added Bounty Chips to the Mystery Rank in Lucky Ranks, giving players more opportunities to earn rewards.
