EE has just launched a groundbreaking multi-tech insurance plan designed for devices purchased from EE or other retailers.
This extensive coverage encompasses loss, theft, accidental damage, an extended warranty, global protection, and repairs sanctioned by manufacturers for an unlimited number of eligible devices.
This launch responds to a significant market need, as recent surveys indicate that nearly 25% of people in the UK have had to replace a device within the last year, while 64% express a preference for a single, straightforward policy that could cover most of their tech needs.
In a bold move, EE has introduced its brand-new Multi Tech Cover policy, a comprehensive gadget insurance option that not only provides manufacturer-approved repairs but also offers remarkable flexibility for customers seeking to safeguard multiple eligible devices. This initiative underscores EE's dedication to delivering customer-focused protection for the technology that plays a vital role in daily life.
The timing of this launch aligns perfectly with recent research revealing an increasing demand for more straightforward and all-encompassing device protection solutions. Developed in collaboration with the insurer Chubb, EE Multi Tech Cover provides maximum convenience and straightforward protection without requiring long-term financial commitments. Customers can opt for a rolling monthly term, granting them complete flexibility and control over their insurance plans.
There are two tiers available, which can be accessed instantly through the EE app or website:
- Damage Cover: This includes protection against accidental damage, extended warranties, worldwide coverage, and repairs or replacements approved by the manufacturer. Importantly, it also includes in-box accessories provided by the manufacturer as part of a device claim.
- Full Cover: This encompasses all the features of Damage Cover, in addition to protection against both loss and theft.
Coverage for Everyday Technology
This insurance policy extends its protection to a wide array of everyday tech items, regardless of whether they were bought brand new or refurbished from EE or third-party sellers. The coverage includes:
- Mobile Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Headphones, Smartwatches, and E-Readers
- Home Security Devices (like video doorbells) and Fitness Trackers
- Gaming Consoles, Controllers, and VR Headsets are covered for damage claims only.
Importantly, even if a device is no longer under the manufacturer's warranty, EE will continue to provide breakdown coverage for devices under five years old throughout the duration of the customer’s policy.

Pricing & Claims Information
Multi Tech Cover is offered through two distinct policies on a flexible monthly rolling basis:
- Damage Cover: Priced at £15.99 monthly
- Full Cover: Available for £22.99 monthly
Customers opting for Damage Cover can submit up to five claims within a 12-month period. Full Cover protects against lost or stolen items, allowing customers to file up to five claims in the same timeframe, with a maximum of three claims eligible for loss or theft. Notably, customers do not have to register all their devices to initiate a claim, making Multi Tech Cover one of the most comprehensive protection offerings available from any UK provider.
Building upon the success of EE’s previous Single Tech Cover, which permitted unlimited damage claims and allowed for two loss or theft claims (for the full coverage version) within a 12-month period, Multi Tech Cover provides even greater flexibility, continuing until the customer decides to cancel.
